Don Cardinell has been involved with Vision Quest Conference since its inception. Don was employed by the Government of Canada as a project officer at both Canada Employment and Immigration and Western Economic Diversification. Together with Steve Prince, Ian Cramer and many others, a plan was developed 27 years ago, to develop and implement an economic development conference focused on the needs of Indigenous youth and Indigenous communities throughout Manitoba. The result being the Vision Quest Conference and Trade show.
Prior to joining the Federal Government, Don was a researcher at the Institute of Urban Studies at the University of Winnipeg, a Community Development Officer with Neighborhood Services Center, Executive Director with Winnipeg Home Improvement Project and an Economic Development Officer at Red Sucker Lake Manitoba. Don is an advocate of human rights issues for Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ communities.
