Kimberly Gorgichuk

My name is Kimberly Gorgichuk, and I serve as the Senior Program Officer for the Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs (IWE) Program at NACCA. My pronouns are she/her/kwe. I was born and raised in Ontario and am a proud member of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, located in Golden Lake, Renfrew County, Ontario, where my grandmothers were from. I currently reside in Treaty 6 territory, Edmonton, Alberta, and have enjoyed a fulfilling career in Project Management spanning over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have actively participated in and completed projects for various First Nation Communities. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in launching the Indigenous Tourism Ontario’s Business Advisory Program (ITO).

Two years ago, I joined NACCA’s IWE Team to help launch and implement the IWE Program. This initiative aims to dismantle systemic barriers, improve access to financing and capital, enhance Indigenous women’s financial management skills, and empower them with entrepreneurial acumen. Prior to joining NACCA, I embarked on my own entrepreneurial journey, establishing a consulting corporation specializing in Project Management support for First Nations and Indigenous Organizations. Moreover, I serve as a faculty member at Banff Centre in Alberta, where I deliver Intermediate Project Management for Indigenous Organizations. Through my business endeavors, I have assisted clients in executing successful projects by leveraging modern technology and Project Management methodologies, all while respecting the cultural values of the communities I serve.

As a member of NACCA’s IWE Program team, I am dedicated to supporting Indigenous women nationwide in laying the groundwork for self-employment, achieving financial independence, and acquiring the business expertise necessary to sustain or expand successful enterprises across generations, particularly in today’s dynamic economic landscape.
