Marilyn Tanner-Spence resides in Winnipeg, and is a member of Waywayseecappo. She owns Teekca’s Aboriginal Boutique at the Forks Market and Teekca’s Boutique in Norway House Cree Nation, and her next project is to open a store to showcase artists that will do live demonstrations of their work. Marilyn has a diploma in nursing from Red River College, a degree in Nursing, and her Master of Arts in Public Administration. She is credited with helping to establish the first Northern Nursing Program in partnership with the University of Manitoba, and the first on-reserve dialysis unit. She has participated on boards at the Misericordia Health Centre, and the Manitoba Indigenous Tourism Advisory Committee.
