Biography
Oliver Boulette, from the small Métis community of Manigotogan, Manitoba, attended a residential school in Cranberry Portage. Oliver became involved in government and politics after graduating with a major in Political Studies at the University of Manitoba. Employed for many years with the Manitoba government, he served as the Assistant Deputy Minister and then Deputy Minister of Northern Affairs and Energy and Mines. Oliver left the provincial government and became actively involved in the Métis government as Executive Director for six years before retiring in 2010. An avid fiddler, Oliver promotes the unique red river Métis style of music playing at schools, senior homes, and cultural events across the Métis nation homeland.
