Maximize your Vision Quest experience with two insightful Pre-Conference Courses, available exclusively to Conference delegates! Both courses will take place concurrently on Tuesday, May 14th from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the RBC Convention Centre.

Legal Responsibilities of Boards

Jason Denbow from Community Futures Leadership Institute

Board members need to become familiar with the legal environment that exists for non-profit organizations. Participants will:

  • Be aware of the legal framework within which they provide leadership;
  • Know where to find and apply the legal guidelines governing non-profit board of directors;
  • Identify the circumstances that create liability for directors; and
  • Review how boards can protect themselves against liability.

Tipping the Scales for Successful Funding Applications

Coordinating projects and applying for grants to fund them are critical skills that you can develop. This one day workshop will set you up for success, as you learn about:

  • Funders and what they are looking for
  • Key components of projects & funding proposals
  • Proposal writing tips to strengthen your grant applications
  • Project funding sources in addition to grants
  • Finding the right funders to match your project goals

All participants who attend and finish the course will receive a certificate of completion.  

Cost: $130.00 (Delegates only; In addition to Conference registration fee)
