Sherry McKay

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba by her grandmother, Sherry McKay is Anishinaabe from Treaty 1 Territory and a mother of 4. Sherry is an accomplished content creator, comedian, speaker, writer and storyteller, capturing humor from an Indigenous lens and sharing it with the world.  This visionary perspective has earned her a large following on social media as well as opportunities as wide and varied as TEDX, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, limited TV series Little Bird, and a national tour as a Deadly Auntie. Sherry’s goal is to focus on Indigenous comedy and amplify accurate representation of Indigenous peoples today, quieting the narrative that we are people of the past.
